Abstract :
Integrated financial and accounting system (IFAS) is developed to smooth out the monetary transactions processes and to assist the management of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in making decisions on matters specially that relates to finance. Advancement in new technology requires IFAS to undergo extensive maintenance and enhancement. Pertaining to IFAS functionalities, this paper aims at discovering what can be reused from the old IFAS (OIFAS), and to examine whether they are reused or otherwise in the new IFAS (N-IFAS). The O-IFAS documentations are analyzed and development team is interviewed to identify the functions or modules that are prospective for reused. Similarly, to identify their reuse in practice, the N-IFAS´s development team is interviewed to confirm the reuse of the identified modules. The findings suggest that the reuse of functionalities is rather high although the operating environment is changed. However, different levels of reuse were applied on the modules.
