Abstract :
Nowadays researchers all around the world are looking for alternative option for fossil energy resources by renewable and sustainable energies. Wind energy as one of the cheapest and sustainable energy sources has drawn attentions among energy decision makers and researchers. In this paper, we studied the wind energy potentiality of the Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia by means of statistical analysis of 2008 and 2009 wind data set and developed of site power curve. The maximum achievable energy production in this area is 12.8MW/year and the capacity factor is 9.16%. In conclusion, this site could not be considered as the proper site for large scale wind harnessing.
