Abstract
Surface waves induction is one of the imperfections of microstrip antennas. To solve this problem, authors have derived, using the moment method, an analytical formula. Analysis of this formulas have made it possible to calculate condition of surface waves induction. It permits selection of thickness of each layer of dielectric structure in order to minimize influence of surface waves on radiation pattern (side lobe level).
