Abstract :
A new distance metric for MLC/PDL (multilevel codes/parallel decoding of levels) with MQAM constellation is proved to be applicable when punctured convolutional code is used as component code of Rayleigh fading channel. The efficiency has been demonstrated by detailed simulation results. The performance comparison between punctured convolutional code and block code under the same condition is also given.
