Abstract :
It is shown that the Prony method can be used to accurately extract the natural frequencies of a radar target from a measured response. This can be accomplished by filtering the response via a serial correlation filter. This filter requires no a priori knowledge of the signal and estimates the noise level. Results are presented for both simulated data with additive white Gaussian noise and measured data with unknown noise characteristics in order to demonstrate the application and accuracy of this technique.
