Abstract :
The hindcast and near real-time Lagrangian applications of the coastal surface currents measured by high-frequency (HF) radar are presented. The hourly surface current maps created by HF radar network along the California coast are applied to the coastal river plume, the oil spill experiment, and the oil spill and ocean outfall tracking.
