Abstract :
A presentation of Ka-band frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FM-CW) radar is given. The radar performs moving target identification of military vehicles. It is fully coherent, operates in the Ka band (34 to 36 GHz), and is unique in the way it allows target acquisition in real time, since the frequency sweep of a bandwidth of 1.2 GHz is produced in less than 6 ms. The FMCW signal processing technique and some field tests results are presented.
