Abstract :
A simple and efficient license plate location and recognition technology is proposed and tested. This new technology considers the gray location and edge information available through searching jumping change in a license plate area. Segmentation method is used to improve the traditional projection method. Template matching method and statistics are applied for final recognition. Tests show that this new technology meets with practical needs.
