Abstract
This In this paper we evaluate the impact of refresh intervals of OLSR protocol and adjusting initial RTO in TCP New Reno algorithm on the performance of MANETs containing 10 and 50 mobile nodes. HTTP low load traffic is used over the designed networks. Performances of the networks are measured in terms of network throughput, network delay, TCP delay, as well as HTTP object response time. Simulation results show that reducing TC interval time increases the network throughput significantly and decreases the network delay. But it also increases TCP delay and HTTP object response time. These two parameters are decreased when we adjust initial RTO time based on measured RTTs.
