Abstract :
In the waveform measurement with oscilloscopes, probes are playing a more important role along with the recent signal speed jumping-up into GHz. We started the development of high frequency active probes and finally achieved very flat frequency response from DC to 2 GHz within 0.5 dB and DC to 3 GHz within 1 dB. This paper describes several technical issues and breakthrough in designing wide bandwidth active probes for oscilloscopes, such as short bonding chip-on-board method, cable design and cable loss compensation
