Abstract :
Extraction of S-parameters and field patterns from electromagnetic simulations of a single mode cavity loaded with a rock sample has been investigated. The research has focused on the influence of the rock sample computer model on the agreement between computed and measured results. QuickWave-3D electromagnetic simulator has been applied. Moreover, specialised software tools have been developed in order to enable automatic generation of 3D models based on digital images of sections of rock samples.
