Abstract :
CMOS-based sensor array chips for bio molecule detection provide high parallelism and further attractive features as compared to today´s standard tools. They open the way to smart systems in medical and diagnostic applications. In this paper, a topical review is given concerning the basic operating principles of such arrays, transducer principles, related technical requirements and specifications, circuit design and system issues.
