Abstract :
A method of producing usable system models or control algorithms from tables of system data is presented. The system variable data are broken into a limited number of meaningful ranges. The tables of data are then reduced to a minimum set of decision rules for predicting the next state, measurement or control action. The method is developed in a mathematically precise form and examples are given.
