Abstract :
An optical trapping system with a tapered optical fiber is successfully integrated. An inexpensive chemically etching technique is employed to make the tapered fiber. In this work, the fiber tips with large tapered angles are fabricated and used for trapping microscopic particles. The experimental results show that the system using the fiber with larger tapered angle achieves higher trapping efficiency.
