Abstract :
A model for the refractivity variation in the troposphere as a function of temperature and water vapour pressure is presented. The proposed model, unlike previous models, relates directly the environmental parameters that affect the variation of the refractivity with its profile. Therefore, it is not only just a mathematical consideration, but it is also a tool which predicts the well-known phenomena in radio wave propagation, viz, sub-refraction, super refraction, and ducting
