Abstract :
This paper presents a new complete analytical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor with consideration of saturation effect. The model is verified using numerical and experimental results. The air gap flux density, electromotive force and torque are represented in spatial harmonic form. The slot effect is taken into account and the flux density distribution in teeth, air gap and stator yoke are mathematically developed to reveal the harmonic behavior of magnetic parameters. Moreover, the torque and electromotive force pulsation can be calculated which results in a proper base for optimization of the motor. The proposed analytical model is verified using finite element calculations. Subsequently, a permanent magnetic synchronous motor is constructed to validate the effectiveness of analytical and numerical computations.
