Abstract :
Several issues should be solved for small signal stability assessment of extra-large power system. First, various alternative energy generation models and modern intelligent control equipments are emerged continuously; a convenient and flexible way to simulate these models which can be updated timely should be found for the small signal stability assessment software. Second, the system state variables array dimension expands sharply with the increase of new models. Jacobi matrix, even stored in a sparse way, still will be a huge scale. The execution of the traditional serial algorithm will be high storage cost and low efficient. In this paper the user-defined model module of the power system analysis software package and a method which can linearize any block are introduced in detail. The development of the Parallel algorithms based on the `Multi-port Inverse Matrix parallel algorithm´ or some mature parallel numerical analysis solvers are discussed, which can be applied on the high performance PC clusters or multi-core PC.
