  • Abstract
The vehicle energy management strategy is optimized according to the characteristics of fuel cell hybrid vehicle system. In our study, a real-time power control algorithm for hybrid system based on fuzzy-control theory is proposed. The variables of this algorithm are set as follows: the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion battery and the vehicle power demand are set as input variables, while the provide power of fuel cell, provided power of lithium-ion battery and the recovery power of braking energy are set as the output variables. This new method has been applied to the hardware platform to obtain the simulation results, and a vehicle controller prototype was designed. The experimental results and the test results of the prototype indicate that: our new algorithm can make the vehicle power efficiency up to 50% or more, while make the fuel cell and the lithium-ion batteries work in the best condition.
