Abstract :
This article is an overview of usage of the STEP standard in Czech Republic. At present time it is not possible to ignore an important role of international standards in electronic product industry. One of the most important standards in this area is an international ISO 10303 standard also known as a STEP. The term STEP is a short cut for Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data. The STEP is a very large and powerful standard which is used in the product´s entire life cycle. In our article we briefly describe what the STEP standard is and his history. We also describe a present state of usage of the STEP standard in Czech Republic and at the last part of our contribution we pay attention to present time problems and trends in the STEP evolution
