  • Abstract
The accelerated ageing under the simultaneous action of environmental conditions for the cable insulation creates many difficulties in the development of a unitary concept and an adequate mathematical formalism in order to obtain a synergetic model of degradation. In this paper we try to obtain a degradation equation for the relative elongation at break of a XLPE cable insulation aged under simultaneous action of heat and stationary electric field. During the accelerated aged it is possible to appear initial or retarding crosslinking phenomena in XLPE cable insulation. These phenomena are conditioned of chemical crosslinking agents (silane, peroxides), storage environmental, storage period, etc
