Abstract
New design of chipless tags for paper-based paper money recognition is proposed. Chipless tags consist of split-ring resonator (SRR) on thin paper-based items such as paper money, tickets, and security documents. The chipless tag generates distinct electromagnetic characteristics by various combination of a split ring resonator. This electromagnetic code may replace holographic band on banknotes and improve security in the printing of paper money. Furthermore, low cost printable chipless tags and reader system will lead to an economical alternative of current RFID applications.
