Abstract :
This paper describes a new floating-point solver for the real-time simulation of electric and power electronic circuits on FPGA, without the need to actually program their mathematical equations. The simulation model is generated by the tool directly from a physical model of the application designed by the user in a circuit editor. The new tool `Electric Hardware Solver´ (eHS) aims at facilitating FPGA-based Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) of power converters and motor drives in particular, by overcoming the difficulties associated with the tedious implementation of analytical models on FPGA Several actual circuit examples are simulated with this tool and real-time simulation results are giving.
