Abstract
Device-to-Device (D2D) communication will become an important technology in future wireless networks with increasing demand for local communication services. In particular, enabling D2D links in a cellular network presents a challenge in radio resource management due to the interference between cellular and D2D terminals. Many research works have considered cellular users as the primary and proposed methods to deal with the interference that the cellular users experience from the D2D users. However, it is also important to guarantee reliability of D2D links. In this paper, we propose a method to properly choose the cellular user equipment (CUE) that shares the radio resource with D2D users to mitigate the interference from the cellular link to the D2D receivers. Numerical results show that by applying our method the reliability of D2D communication improves significantly without degrading the performance of the cellular connection.
