Abstract :
The solid phase luminescence determination of aluminum using an optical multichannel spectral analyser (OMA) was described. Silica (SG) modified with ion associate: high molecular weight quaternary ammonium salt (QAS) complexed with lumogallion (LG) was used as active sensor element. Photoluminescence (PL) of the modified sorbent was excited by pulse N2 laser and then studied by OMA using a CCD camera for detection of the pulse PL spectra. It was shown that the intensity of PL pulse peaks of the modified SG noticeably increased with the rising of Al (III) concentration in the range of 1×10-6 + 1×10-4 M. The detection limit of Al was 1×10-7 mole/l at sample volume 50 ml and sorbent mass 0.05 g. The PL spectra of Al-LG complex formed on the surface consists of two bonds. Their possible configurations are discussed. The developed method can be successfully used for working out optical sensors for aluminum determination in the environment
