Abstract
A simple integrable sinusoidal oscillator is described and experimentally demonstrated. The controlling current is linearly related to the frequency of oscillation over a wide dynamic range close to four orders of magnitude. A salient feature of this oscillator is that the amplitude of oscillation is relatively independent of the frequency controlling current, such that it is practical to operate the oscillator without an extra amplitude controlling network, provided that the frequency variation range is less than 10:1. A temperature compensated biasing network is also described. The percentage distortion is less than 1%
