Abstract
A new data collect method for fault-detection based on the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Global Position System (GPS) was proposed in this paper, called Data Acquisition System (DAS), which uses PLC to get the pressure parameter of a pipeline system, uses the adaptive threshold algorithm to eliminate noise pollution and uses GPS to make sure the time of the system correct and synchronized. This DAS method is more convenient, more efficient and less noise jamming than common methods. The efficiency of the DAS in detecting fault in real pipeline system is evaluated by an experiment in a long product oil pipeline in Henan China. From the results, it is observed that the proposed DAS method is able to collect data of complex pipeline effectively.
