Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel strategy to improve the performance of the zero-voltage transition (ZVT) three-phase inverter with two auxiliary switches for electric vehicle driving systems. The proposed strategy minimizes the number of commutations with the operation of the minimum-loss space-vector modulation (SVM) as well as reduces the turn-on losses with the zero-voltage turn-on of all main switches. In addition, increased snubber capacitance is available, which reduces the turn-off losses of the main switches. The simulation, loss analysis, and experimental results show the improved performances of the proposed ZVT topology
