Abstract :
Interference in cellular terrestrial systems has been extensively studied in the literature mainly through the use of simulations. The interference for CDMA cellular air-to-ground systems has been similarly evaluated through extensive simulations. However, the air-to-ground systems are simpler to analyze than terrestrial systems. In this note, we provide analytic bounds for inter-cell interference in air-to-ground cellular systems with no frequency reuse. We consider the standard 3D hexagonal cell plan and a line of sight channel model with no shadowing and no fading. Simulation results demonstrate that our approximations are extremely tight.
