Abstract :
The architecture and design of a modular and pipelined digital filter bank for nonstationary audio signals is presented. Sigma-delta modulation and its properties enable the efficient VLSI implementation of the filter bank. The sigma-delta modulator and the prefilter/decimator are implemented in a 2 μm, double poly CMOS process. A typical application of the filter bank in power spectrum estimation is also summarized
