Abstract :
A new fourth-order sigma-delta analog-to-digital (A/D) converter is proposed as a cascade of two second-order sections. Its advantages over the alternative cascade of four first-order sections are presented. It is also shown that the proposed design gives certain improvements in performance over a third-order cascade of a second- and first-order section, thus justifying the use of a higher order
