Abstract :
Considers non-smooth characteristics as piecewise-defined functions split by break points. The Poincare sections are naturally defined at the break points and the Poincare mapping is constructed as a composite map of local mappings. The parameter values of local bifurcations are calculated by Newton´s method using these mappings. Additionally the global bifurcations are also obtained by similar method. We propose a standard method to calculate bifurcation parameter values of these systems, and show an illustrated example. This method gives a systematic approach to qualitative analysis of switched dynamical systems
