Abstract :
The paper introduces a novel approach to the crowd curation of ambient music played in venues facilitated by NFC enabled check-ins. The system is know as ‘CheckinDJ’ and utilises NFC enabled objects that are linked to individual users social network accounts to create a music playlist for the venue based preferences of the customers currently present. In this paper we present the design and operation of the system currently deployed along with the future enhancements derived from preliminary user feedback.
