Abstract :
The problems of multipath fading, intersymbol interference (ISI) and other types of interference in a mobile radio environment can be solved together by using both adaptive antennas and equalizers. The least mean square (LMS) algorithm is employed as the control algorithm for adaptive antennas and equalizers under two different environments. Rayleigh fading interference signals are present in the simulation. The performance of a system is sensitive to its structure and the point where feedback is taken. The optimal structure in these experiments contains an adaptive antenna and an equalizer with a common feedback. The optimal structure provides two degrees of freedom to reach the global maximum signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) in the time, and space domains
