Abstract
This research aims to find out the effects of installation of PVs on an existing LV distribution network operation in means of voltage profile, losses and reliability. Firstly, the effects of installing various penetrations and distributing these penetration levels over the main line are investigated in means of voltage profile and losses. Then, reliability analysis of the system is performed by installing PVs as backup generators. Different PV penetration levels, locations and the impacts of installing one large-scale PV on the main distribution feeder vs. several small-scale randomly distributed PVs are explored. A residential distribution circuit of Yildiz region in Ankara was built using NEPLAN software to perform detailed analysis.
