Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore the effect of implementing of dynamic cross saturation in modeling of synchronous generator. The mathematical model of a saturated salient pole synchronous generator is developed and two cases are analyzed. In the first case the cross-magnetizing phenomenon in the saturated synchronous machine (the magnetic coupling between its direct and quadrature axis) is included, while in the second case the cross-saturation is neglected.
