Abstract :
The location of a wind turbine is fundamental to enhance its performance. However, there are other factors that should be taken into account when deciding the best position for a wind turbine. This paper presents the influence of a wind penetration sitting in different distribution networks for the optimization of the economic dispatch problem. A genetic algorithm is developed to solve this problem. A comparison between results of money profits obtained in different buses is done and a new condition is proposed to choose the most cost effective wind penetration site.
