Abstract :
The power delivered through a shaft is proportional to the product of torque and angular speed. A variable reluctance transducer that measures the change of a gap between teeth attached to the shaft and converts it into a change of amplitude of a carrier frequency is described. This change is proportional to the torque. The same transducer produces a signal modulation whose frequency is proportional to the angular speed. The product of amplitude and frequency is proportional to the power
