Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results of the voltage-current characteristics of a high armature reactance synchronous generator for various types of armature reaction compensating L-C network are presented. With the aid of certain combination of L-C network, it is possible to accomplish flat load voltage-load current characteristics over a wide range of load current. These networks can be incorporated with self-excited induction or reluctance type generators and line commutated inverter fed synchronous motor drives in order to accomplish higher output power levels
