Abstract :
Nickel/metal hydride (Ni/MH) is a key industrial rechargeable battery chemistry. Besides being commercially important as today´s dominant hybrid electrical vehicle power source, Ni/MH batteries also have great potential for future applications such as plug-in hybrid electrical vehicles, stationary uninterrupted power supply, and energy storage for smart grid. A status report of the research highlights in Ni/MH technology in the past year and recent trend of manufacturing industry will be presented.
