Abstract :
A compact ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with well matched characteristics is proposed in this paper. The BPF consists of weakly-coupled stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) and parallel-coupled lines. Firstly, the performances of the coupled SIRs were examined, and their results show the broad bandpass characteristics with sharp attenuation slope. Next the bandpass performances of the parallel-coupled lines were studied. Then the UWB BPF in the combination of the SIRs and the coupled-lines were designed from the performance simulation. As the results, the filter has the four-ripple peak frequencies in the passband and the attenuation poles at both passband edges.
