Abstract :
The aim of this article is to discuss the change of conductivity of the water-filled channel region with voltage. By applying the voltage from 60 V to 2000 V, the charging current and loss current of a non-penetrated water treed XLPE sheet sample more increase with voltage than those of a non-degraded one. It has been found that the conductivity of water-filled channel region in low electric fields increases with increasing voltage from fitting observed magnitudes and phases of fundamental wave and 3rd harmonic component to calculated ones based on the model. It is found that the conductivity of water-filled channel region depends on the length of water-filled region
