Abstract :
A novel D-square DC-DC converter, which makes it possible to control the mean voltage across the output from zero to input voltage with a quadratic dependence on the duty cycle is analyzed. This enables a high load current at low output voltage with better efficiency. The control features of such a type of converter are discussed in this paper. Switching structures of a DC drive fed by the presented converter are analyzed, feed forward control based on solving the limit cycle is designed and some validated experimental results are given.
