Abstract :
A lot of investigations were recently done to check the ability of dielectric diagnostic procedures to evaluate on-site the status of a XLPE cable system. Several procedures to determine and interpret dielectric data in time and frequency domain were investigated. The collected data were compared with results from destructive test methods like electrical breakdown strength and optical water tree test. This paper contributes to the differences between the results from destructive or non destructive test methods and possible interpretations of the results
