Abstract
A technique is described for analysis of sea ice distribution over a wide area of ice covered water. The sea ice was photographed from a ship by a video camera. Continuous video images are obtained using geometric transformation and template matching. Because the route of the ship was both straight and curved, template matching is combined into straight and rotary cases. The transformed images are more smoothly connected than using only straight matching.
