Abstract :
The authors try to reduce the calculation time for the eigenvalue by using a digital signal processor (DSP). The methods for solving the eigenvalue are well known as the QR, LR, and double-QR methods. A S-matrix method is used in the Japanese electric power system also. By applying the DSP to these methods, the calculation time can be speeded up by a factor of 150 to 520 times compared to personal computers with the C-language. Thus, the solution of the eigenvalue becomes feasible for real-time control by using the DSP
