Abstract :
The authors study the definition of hybrid copper/optical fiber cables dedicated to the local loop. Two kinds of networks are considered: fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) wherein the subscriber may get the electrical power from the central office, from the feeder distribution interface (FDI) or from the network termination (C), and fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) wherein electrical power is provided via the central office, the FDI or a local energy source
