Abstract
Transportation management system(TMS) means great significance for logistics management in current information times. This paper firstly summarized the functions of transportation management system. The supportive information technologies for TMS were then analyzed. But these technologies have respective shortcoming so that they could not completely solve the problems for a wonderful TMS. Ubiquitous computing theory was introduced and its features demonstrated such computing might be better solution to TMS. So a novel frame of TMS was designed and the detail functions of the vehicle-mounted ubiquitous device were also successfully designed. The vehicle-mounted ubiquitous device with the designed functions would be the key tool for the ideal TMS.
