Abstract :
In this paper, phase noise in the widely used CMOS cross-coupled differential oscillator is analyzed using periodic time-varying method. The equation relating oscillator´s key performance parameters and CMOS process parameters, which can be used for phase noise - power trade-off, is developed. The analytical results are shown to be in very good agreement with simulation results.
