  • Abstract
This document gives an overview of the different operation of dual-polarized antenna arrays due to the standard inherent open and closed loop control of MIMO and beam-steering. Examples of broadband antenna array configurations are shown. The tendency to the (re)-use of antenna arrays will be investigated regarding the potential possible gain for data throughput with a realistic limited S/I in comparison with the theoretical noise limited cell throughput. The S/I coverage and data rates are based on simplified calculations, which can give at least a theoretical limitation on the gain of coverage and spectrum efficiency.
