Abstract :
This paper deals with the realistic-model open structures excited by a pulse source (2-D case). The algorithm is based on the exact absorbing conditions (EAC) for intial boundary value problems describing the scattering process. EAC allows, for arbitrary time intervals, to carry out the analysis in bounded spatial region that enclose all sources and scatters. The methodology reveals physical features in the interaction of the oscillations of different modes in the open resonators. The structure represents a confocal resonator, whose right mirror is rotated anticlockwise through some angle. In the confocal geometry the oscillations can be divided into classes of symmetry, no interaction of the oscillations is observed. The results are related to the analysis of transient processes in open resonators of various configurations.
